In Greece,<br \/>\nhandkerchiefs were made of fine cotton or linen and often perfumed.&nbsp; The Romans had several cloths, used by the<br \/>\nmale sex.&nbsp; By the reign of the later<br \/>\nRoman emperors, the cloths were no longer plain white, but richly embroidered<br \/>\nwith gold, and fringed.&nbsp; They became a<br \/>\nsign of high rank and position.&nbsp; In<br \/>\nByzantine courts they took on ceremonial functions.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; By the 1600\u2019s<br \/>\nhandkerchiefs became showy and costly for both men and women.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nIn the 17<sup>th<\/sup> and 18<sup>th<\/sup> C handkerchiefs<br \/>\nwere oval, round and oblong.&nbsp; The story<br \/>\nis told that Marie Antoinette happened to mention to King Louis XVI that she<br \/>\nwas tired of such haphazard shapes, instantly the king decreed the \u201clength of<br \/>\nthe handkerchief shall equal its width throughout the kingdom\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp; As a young man he invested in<br \/>\nhis own textile studio. &nbsp;His household<br \/>\nfabric designs were seen in department stores in NY.<\/div>\n<div>\nIn the 1920\u2019s Lamb designed a series he called<br \/>\n\u201cKiddyland\u201d.&nbsp; Besides a cartoon series<br \/>\nhe introduced a line of children\u2019s toys and accessories.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nToday these once fashion accessories are becoming very<br \/>\ncollectible.&nbsp;
