\nWhile
\nvisiting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia we happened upon the National Textile Museum of
\nMalaysia.  Located a short walk from the
\nCentral Market, The Textile Museum is housed in an elegant, historic, colonial
\nbuilding of Moghul-Islamic architecture.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

\nThe
\nmuseum\u2019s role is to \u201c collect, conserve and document and display the diverse
\nnational textile collection, especially the traditional handwork of the
\nmulti-ethnic society of Malaysia comprising Malays, Chinese, Indians, Orang
\nAsli  and the indigenous peoples of
\nSabah and  Sarawak\u201d.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nThe
\nmuseum\u2019s five galleries artfully display their beautiful textile collection
\nwith informative didatic panels. There is also a small video room,
\nunfortunately the film is not in English but the visuals can be enjoyed
\nnonetheless.  Also within the building
\nis a small caf\u00e9 and gift shop.<\/o:p><\/span><\/div>\n

\nis free and the museum is open daily from 9am \u20136 pm.  Anyone visiting K L should plan on spending some time there.  A cool stop for a usually very hot
