We are familiar with those<br \/>\nwho create \u201cthe look\u201d but often we forget that there is another group of<br \/>\ndesigners vital to the creation of fabric, be it for clothing, home furnishings<br \/>\nor accessories, even industrial applications.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThese are the designers that create the fabric patterning.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">Today computerization has taken many tasks that were<br \/>\npreviously laboriously performed in the textile industry.&nbsp; While design studios rely heavily upon<br \/>\ncomputer programs, there is, or should always be space for designers to paint,<br \/>\nsketch and imprint their artist\u2019s hand in the design.&nbsp; <\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">&nbsp;I recently purchased<br \/>\nan amazing reference, The Collier- Campbell Archive.&nbsp; This beautiful volume tells the story of two sisters, Sarah<br \/>\nCampbell and Susan Collier and their 50 year career in fabric design.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"clear: both; In the late<br \/>\n1970\u2019s the sisters founded Collier and Campbell in order to control their<br \/>\ndesign rights and the quality of the fabric and printing.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">Their story is told in three parts:&nbsp;
