{"id":394,"date":"2015-04-26T17:08:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-26T17:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/26\/a-cloth-of-power-the-shroud-of-turin-2\/"},"modified":"2015-04-26T17:08:00","modified_gmt":"2015-04-26T17:08:00","slug":"a-cloth-of-power-the-shroud-of-turin-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/a-cloth-of-power-the-shroud-of-turin-2.html","title":{"rendered":"A Cloth of Power- The Shroud of Turin"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">The Shroud of Turin<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">I have often given a lecture entitled \u201dMagic Clothes of<br \/>\nPower\u201d.&nbsp; There are many instances of<br \/>\ntextiles that are reported to have special powers.&nbsp; These fabrics are not merely symbols of power, such as military<br \/>\nuniforms or religious vestments, but have intrinsic powers, which are derived<br \/>\nfrom special fibers, or are granted properties from \u201cother-worldly\u201d<br \/>\nsources.&nbsp; Folklore and literature are<br \/>\nsources of many tales of \u201cclothes of power\u201d such as special cloaks, flying<br \/>\ncarpets and ruby red shoes.&nbsp; Many people<br \/>\nhave traditions that&nbsp; include reverence<br \/>\nfor textiles which, they believe, can provide protection or bring good fortune.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-size: large;\">Last Sunday the Shroud of Turin went on exhibition in Turin,<br \/>\nItaly, which will run until June, 24th.
