\nWe are one week into the new year,2016.  I came upon several facts about textile
\nhistory occurring in the years \u201315.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nOn March 21,2015 The Textile Museum, Washington D.C., moved
\ninto their new home on the campus of George Washington University.  See my blog, \u201cAt Last- New Textile Museum \u201c,

\nIn 1915 Estelle Lester Laverne was born.  Estelle established Laverne Originals,
\nlater, Laverne International.  She was a
\npioneer in integrating applied design in textiles with the fines arts.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\nIn 1815 Lowell established a mill in Waltham, MA, later to
\nbecome ( in Lowell MA) one of America\u2019s largest textile manufacturing sites and
\na model for US industrialization.  See

\nIn 1515 the first nationalized factories for tapestry

\nIn 1315 the Lyons silk industry was developed by Italian

\nIn 715 wool dyeing was established in Rome.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n

\nTo view textiles from the past, a collection of  vintage magazines is helpful ( and
\ninexpensive to purchase from flea markets, thrift shops and vintage book stores).  <\/div>\n
