{"id":354,"date":"2016-04-16T19:09:00","date_gmt":"2016-04-16T19:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2016\/04\/16\/art-therapy-2\/"},"modified":"2016-04-16T19:09:00","modified_gmt":"2016-04-16T19:09:00","slug":"art-therapy-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2016\/04\/art-therapy-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Art Therapy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div>\nArt Therapy<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nWhile on vacation visiting my New Zealand relatives, I<br \/>\nmentioned to my sister-in-law that I really needed the vacation.&nbsp; Sensing some degree of stress on my part,<br \/>\nshe told me about an adult coloring book that was given to my mother-in-law for<br \/>\nChristmas.&nbsp; Apparently, I was the only<br \/>\nperson who had not heard of this trend to eliminate anxiety and stress.&nbsp; While shopping at her favorite book\/gift<br \/>\nshop, my sister-in-law introduced me to a large selection of these art<br \/>\nbooks.&nbsp; I was amazed at the intricacy<br \/>\nand variety of designs, so much so that I bought several different \u201cAdult<br \/>\nColoring Books\u201d. Amongst my selections were two books of textile designs and<br \/>\none of traditional Japanese designs.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nI began with a book of William Morris wallpaper designs.<br \/>\n(See my blog about Morris- William Morris, Textiles and Interior Design, 6\/18\/14)<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><\/p>\n<table align=\"center\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"margin-left: auto; text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<div>\nMy other textile book presents Liberty of London fabrics (<br \/>\nsee my blog, Liberty Style, 2\/16\/14) and I am researching the<br \/>\noriginal fabrics chosen for the book.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>\nWhile this might seem a frivolous use of time, I found the<br \/>\ndegree of concentration necessary to complete these designs actually<br \/>\nprovided&nbsp; stress relief.&nbsp; One of the most challenging aspects of this<br \/>\nactivity is choosing the art materials to use (I selected ink and brush for my<br \/>\nfirst efforts.&nbsp; Next, I will try<br \/>\nwatercolor pencils.)&nbsp;
