\nToday is St Patrick\u2019s Day and since my grandmother was
\nIrish, as a child, I always considered this a very special day. I loved all the
\nstories of the \u201cwee people\u201d and I was sure my family had a castle in Ireland.
\n(Where that castle came from, I have no idea)<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/a><\/div>\n

\nThe textile tradition in Ireland is a long one.  The bogs were important to the production of
\nflax and superior Irish Linen.  Taught
\nby nuns, Irish women and their daughters made Irish lace and crochet.  See my blog \u201cIrish Lace\u201d, March 2013.<\/div>\n

\nSince my husband also has Irish ancestors, we have been
\ndining this week on meals from Irish recipes: 
\nShepard\u2019s Pie, Irish Soda Bread, Scones and Smoked Salmon.  But, tonight it is Corned Beef and Cabbage,
\nmy grandmother\u2019s recipe!!<\/div>\n

\nSo today, wear green, whether Irish or not for good
\nluck.  And, if you should see a rainbow,
\nsearch for the pot of gold.  You never
