{"id":314,"date":"2017-12-19T17:15:00","date_gmt":"2017-12-19T17:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/19\/the-house-of-givenchy\/"},"modified":"2017-12-19T17:15:00","modified_gmt":"2017-12-19T17:15:00","slug":"the-house-of-givenchy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cinnamonstudio.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/the-house-of-givenchy.html","title":{"rendered":"The House of Givenchy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div>\nA Change at the Top<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nThis year Clare Waight Keller, an English-born designer. was<br \/>\nhired by Philippe Fortunato, chief executive of Givenchy, to become the first<br \/>\nwoman to hold the position of Artistic Director of women\u2019s and men\u201d<br \/>\nready-to-wear, haute couture and accessory collections.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nHubert de Givenchy&nbsp;<br \/>\nwas a student of the Beaux-Arts, studying and working with other famous<br \/>\ndesigners at a time when noted fashion houses&nbsp;<br \/>\nused their designs as&nbsp; property<br \/>\nof the \u201ccompany\u201d.&nbsp; Young designers , in<br \/>\norder to gain recognition,&nbsp; began<br \/>\ncreating collections of their own and showing their collections at various<br \/>\nvenues much smaller in scale than the lavish \u201cfashion week\u201d showings offered by<br \/>\nthe \u201cbig\u201d houses.<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nIn 1952 Givenchy founded and launched a collection called<br \/>\n\u201cLes Separables\u201d, the first designer to create luxury ready-to-wear.
